This piece showcases a variety of cakes that hold special memories for me. I often had grocery store pudding cake for breakfast as a kid. Nutritious, I know. My dad makes the best chocolate cake during Christmastime, and my Great Grandma's carrot cake with chocolate frosting was simply unbeatable. My mom’s light and fluffy pistachio pudding cake is iconic, and my aunt’s pineapple “Yum-Yum cake” is a family favorite. Even my boyfriend has a classic orange creamsicle cake that he most likely will never be able to make the same way again. I guess I can associate each person in my life with a piece of cake, each unique and special in their own way. Weird.
