Anemoia
Artist: Lexi Bruno
Year: 2024
Dimensions: 16x20"
Medium: Acrylic on canvas
Anemoia is a term from John Koenig's Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows, describing nostalgia for a time or place you’ve never known. I’ve always felt a strong attachment to the fall and winter months. This landscape reflects how I envision the end scene of The Giver by Lois Lowry—a small house with lights at the end of a snowy hill. It feels familiar, even though it’s entirely from my imagination. I want to go to there.
